Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 October 2026
These terms govern your use of StackSentinel, the monitoring service at stacksentinel.net (the “Service”). The Service is operated by DNS Knowledge Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (CIN U74120MH2016PTC272243), Thakur Complex, Kandivali East, Mumbai 400 101, Maharashtra, India (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.
1. The Service
StackSentinel checks websites, servers, DNS records, SSL certificates, IP cameras and network video recorders that you add, records the results, and alerts you when something changes. We may improve, change or retire features. If we remove something central to a paid plan, we will tell you in advance.
2. Your account
- Give us a valid email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.
3. Monitor only what you are allowed to
You must own every website, server, domain, camera and recorder you add, or have the owner’s permission to monitor it. This includes any usernames and passwords you give us for cameras or recorders. We recommend creating a dedicated, read-only account on each device for StackSentinel. You are responsible for any claim that arises from monitoring a system you were not authorised to monitor.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- break the law, or monitor, scan or probe systems without permission
- overload or attack any system, including ours, or use the Service for load testing
- try to get around plan limits, security controls or other users’ data
- resell the Service, or copy or reverse-engineer it, unless we agree in writing
We may suspend monitors or accounts that break these rules or put the Service at risk.
5. Free trial and plans
New accounts start with a 30-day free trial; no card is needed. To keep monitoring after the trial, choose a paid plan. Each plan’s limits, such as the number of monitors and the shortest check interval, are shown on our pricing page.
6. Fees and payment
- Prices are shown on our pricing page in US dollars and exclude applicable taxes, which we add where the law requires.
- Paid plans are billed in advance for each billing period. We will send you an invoice, and payment is due by the date on it.
- If an invoice is not paid on time, we may suspend paid features until it is.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. Changes apply from your next billing period.
- Fees already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund.
7. Alerts are best-effort
We work to detect problems and notify you quickly, but we cannot guarantee that every outage, fault or change will be detected, or that every alert will arrive on time. Email, push and Slack notifications depend on networks and services outside our control. StackSentinel helps you notice problems; it does not replace your own backups, redundancy or security systems, and must not be relied on where a missed alert could put anyone’s safety at risk.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the Service running at all times but do not promise uninterrupted availability, unless we have agreed a service level with you in writing. We may carry out maintenance, and will try to schedule it to minimise disruption.
9. Your data
The data you add to StackSentinel, and the results of your checks, belong to you. You allow us to store and process them only to provide and secure the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
10. Our property
The Service, its software and its design belong to us. These terms give you the right to use the Service while your account is active; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
11. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, do not pay, or use the Service in a way that harms others. When an account is closed, we delete its monitors and check history within 30 days.
12. Disclaimer
Apart from the commitments in these terms, the Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
